Post Separation Support ('PSS') is support from the Supporting Spouse to the Dependant Spouse during the separation period prior to Divorce.  Once the Divorce is finalized, continued support of the Dependant Spouse by the Supporting Spouse it called 'Alimony'.  PSS and Alimony amounts are determined by the consideration of various factors including the relative incomes and living expenses of the parties.  The Courts may also consider marital bad acts, such as adultery, committed by the parties in determining the appropriate amount of the award.
